 I do tend to get absorbed in pretty well everything that I do, but nothing has been quite as much a compulsion with me as computers. I bought my first machine (pictured here - an 8K Commodore PET 2001) in April 1979, and it's been downhill ever since then. I used to do a great deal more programming than I do now, and my main sphere of interest was writing interactive fiction or text adventures. You can find some of my games (The Golden Fleece, The Holy Grail, The Mission and Frustration) in the interactive fiction archive at ftp.gmd.de. Nowadays, as far as computers are concerned, I am more of a user rather than an implementor, although I still do, from time to time, produce commercial websites on an occasional basis. |
